WORKS ON FABRIC are a collection of hand-printed textiles that reflect the interplay of simple motifs including shells, fish, birds and plants. Soft metallic colours and the careful placement of the images, create a unique look on a linen surface. Drawing on memory and referring to watercolour sketches, the design is applied directly to the silk-screen using the Indonesian method of Batik ( hot wax ). The result is free and spontaneous, more akin to drawing.
